Dinosaur fossils ever found

Ancient dinosaur animals are a story in itself. Many researchers have succeeded in finding fossils marking the heyday of this large-bodied animal. Some of them were found intact and some were found only the tailbone.

The following review specifically discusses some of the dinosaur fossils that have been found by researchers. What dinosaurs were found? Here’s the review.

Tyrannosaurus

Quoting from the https://thelibbymuseum.org/skeleton, this Tyrannosaurus was almost 8 m high and 24 m wide. At that time it was found in the Gobi Desert, around 2002 ago. It can be seen that this fossil was found in almost intact condition. Unfortunately, this framework was auctioned in May 2012 then.

Pegomastax Africanus

The fossil, which was found around October 2012, was identified as one of the smaller dinosaurs. Researchers reveal his body filled with thorns. Pegomastax Africanus has a length of no more than 0.6 meters and weighs less than the weight of a house cat or about 6.8 kg. Protruding from the dinosaur’s muzzle, which resembles a parrot’s beak, are canine teeth measuring 0.8 cm from both the upper and lower jaws, giving the dinosaur the appearance of a vampire.

While canines are often associated with carnivorous animals, this dinosaur was most likely a herbivore. The reason is, if the jaws are closed, the canines do not intersect with each other so that they support the activity of cutting food. These canines probably have nothing to do with eating meat. The teeth may be used to frighten competitors, bite other individuals, defend themselves and possibly for finding food. Canine teeth work like scissors.

Dahalokely Tokana

Its name comes from the Malagasy language, meaning a carnivorous creature in India and Madagascar. In his lifetime, Dahalokely tokana is estimated to have been up to 4.3 meters high and lived 90 million years ago.

Researchers believe that Dahalokely tokana is from the genus abelisaurids. The genus with the characteristic of standing on two legs is known to have lived during the Crestaceous period.

Dahalokely tokana itself is believed to be the ancestor of modern dinosaurs that once lived in India and Madagascar. It is believed they reproduced and evolved there for 20 million years.

Aorun Zhaoi

An international team of researchers has discovered a new species of carnivorous dinosaur in northwest China. This dinosaur named Aorun zhaoi was only a few meters tall and lived during the late Jurassic period about 161 million years ago.

This discovery is also called the oldest Coelurosaur ever known. This species itself is a dinosaur that has tried to evolve into a bird by having feathers all over its body.

Aorun zhaoi was believed to be a predator of lizards during his lifetime. It is known from the shape of its sharp teeth.

Nasuceratops Titusi

Fossils of a horned and big-nosed dinosaur found in southern Utah, United States. This dinosaur is estimated to have a length of 15 feet or about 4.5 meters and weighs 2.75 tons. Nasuceratops titute is thought to have lived about 76 million years ago.

What is still a question among researchers is the mystery of the big nose that this dinosaur had. Researchers still cannot determine whether the size of the nose affected this dinosaur’s sense of smell.

Nasuceratops osit is a plant-eating dinosaur and is a part of the Triceratops family. However, the horns that these dinosaurs had indicate that they did not live quite peacefully.

Hadrosaurs

Even though it was only found in the form of a tail bone, a team of archaeologists consisting of students from INAH and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), provided information that the fossil belonged to a Hadrosaurus.

It is estimated, the age of the 5 meter long tail was 72 million years ago. Hadrosurus itself is an ancient animal that stands like a duck.

In the tail fossil there are 50 coccyx vertebrae which are still intact. The Archaeological Team admitted that there were several other vertebrae scattered around the site, including parts of the spine.
